About the game

What is PokeBonk?

PokeBonk (written PokéBonk) is a fan-made 3D survivors-like created by the developer Charcher, who announced it on October 14, 2026. It takes the horde-survival structure of Megabonk and fills it with Kanto Pokémon: your partner attacks on its own while you steer through a vertical 3D world, collect experience and grow stronger.

The game runs entirely in the browser with WebGL. It is unofficial, free and non-profit, with no ads, purchases or donations, and it is still in open beta, so balance, modes and progression keep changing between updates.

This site, pokebonk.fun, is an independent fan portal. The game window loads the official build from pokebonk.com, so you always play the latest version.

Gameplay

How to play PokeBonk

A PokéBonk run lasts minutes, not hours, and the loop is easy to learn.

Controls

On desktop you play with keyboard and mouse. On phones and tablets, turn the device to landscape. Bindings can change during the beta, so check the in-game settings for the current layout.

  1. Pick a starter

Every run begins with Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle. Each one brings its own type and attack style.

  2. Move and survive

Your Pokémon attacks nearby enemies automatically. Your job is positioning: keep moving, use slopes and high ground, and never let the horde surround you.

  3. Choose upgrade cards

Each level-up offers cards that teach a new move, power up an attack you already have, or grant a vitamin for a stat boost.

  4. Evolve and fire your Ultimate

Grow your partner through its evolutions, charge its Ultimate and push deeper to unlock the League.

Game modes

Two ways to play

Classic

A run is split into zones. Clear each one, defeat its guardian and reach the shrine before you move on. The best mode to learn the pacing.

Survival

No zones and no finish line. Hordes keep coming, milestones mark how far you got, and the endless leaderboard records your best run.

Features

Why players keep coming back

All 151 Kanto Pokémon

The full original Pokédex appears in the game, evolutions included. Not every Pokémon is available at the start, so later runs keep surprising you.

Strategy

PokeBonk tips for beginners

  1. 1

    Keep moving

Standing still is how survivor runs end. Circle the edge of the horde instead of cutting through it.

  2. 2

    Use the high ground

PokéBonk maps are built around verticality. Climbing buys time when the swarm closes in.

  3. 3

    Build around one attack

Stacking upgrades on a move you already own is often stronger than collecting many weak moves.

  4. 4

    Take vitamins later

Once your moves are set, stat boosts keep your partner alive in denser waves.

  5. 5

    Start with Classic

Zones, guardians and shrines teach you the pacing before you try endless Survival.

  6. 6

    Save your progress

Guest progress lives on one device. Create an account before switching to keep your runs.
